Best Nine of 2021

Although last year was yet another interesting year, and I was unable to post anything in the last few months, I took this moment to reflect on the past year and post my most popular images of 2021. I think I was still able to capture a few nice shots.

Last year I planed to build a website, which, more that a year after it was supposed to be finished, is finally nearing completion. I am slowly populating the database with all my past images, and looking up the gear reviews I have written over the years to add them in the coming weeks and months.

Instagram has made some changes that stumped my growth over the last year on that platform, and has forced me to take another look at my approach there. They are prioritizing clips over stills more and more, and organic growth is quite hard to realize. Not being able to produce images and posting for close to half a year also did not help either…
This year I will continue to try and realize my goal of 5000 followers, but at the same time I would like to try and branch out, as I do not believe Instagram is as good of a stills platform as it once was, and this trend will only intensify. At the moment I have no plans to start producing clips.

I also plan to branch out into other platforms, and Twitter is the first that springs to mind, but if anyone knows of any good stills platforms, please do drop me a line or a comment below.

Lastly I would like to thank everyone for their continued support, I am only able to do this because of all of you! Please let me know if you think I can improve on anything I have been doing, I am but one man.
I wish everyone an amazing 2022, and I hope that we can finally have an uneventful year after the turmoil of the last few years!

And now for my almost mandatory pitch: I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I do. If you do, why not follow me on Instagram: @jackoleenders. It will help me out greatly! 😉

  1. Happy New Year, Jacko. I jumped over here from Brent Huntley’s yearly “community gathering” of images. Your top nine have so many reds and purples. Great work.

I’ve added your blog to my RSS collection. I look forward to seeing your work in 2022.

    1. Thank you so much Khürt! Sorry for my late reply, but I just figured out I had not enabled comments properly, and I just learned how to do this in wordpress.

And thanks for letting me know, I did not even know I made it in Brent’s top 10 again, I need to show him some love.

Just had a quick look at your site, and saw some great images there! I’ve bookmarked it and I will have a proper look later.
