Going Somewhere?

Every time I see this photo, I can’t help but think of all the endless possibilities life has to offer, and the few real choices we actually have. Do we choose the light or do we remain in darkness? Do we stay with what we know, even it’s not that great, or do we climb that stairs towards the light not knowing what this might bring? Just beyond could be riches untold or just mere disappointment?

We have to go there to find out, but going there might mean giving up on what we have…

This particular staircase is actually real, and descending down it’s darkness is definitely worth the climb. It is located in the Gallo-Roman Museum of Lyon-Fourvière, a museum dedicated to the settlement of Lyon (or Lugdunum as it was called by the ancient Romans) and its civilization.

The museum is very nice, and there is another gem right next door, in the form of a Roman theater complex, containing not one, but two theaters that remained remarkably well preserved. Now that travel is slowly getting easier again, at least in France, why not visit Lyon, and the many amazing sights it has to offer.

And what about you? Are you going somewhere?

I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I do. If you do, why not follow me on Instagram: @jackoleenders. It will help me out greatly!
