During the day it is extremely difficult to find a spot to enjoy the beaches of this popular coastal village in Thailand, but when the sun goes down all of this changes. People flock to the nightlife just a stone throw away and the beach becomes all but deserted.
With its wide variety of activities and nightlife, Patong is an ideal place to party and play. By night the town has a bustling nightlife which includes literally hundreds of restaurants, beer bars, Go Go Bars and of course night clubs. If you find yourself in this little town and are not really into all of this, why not go to the beach and watch the sun set and enjoy some of the most beautiful colors nature has to offer.
And once the sun has set, and the last of the colors have truly left the night sky, give some of the local restaurants a try. Seafood restaurants are abundant here, all offering fresh fish caught that day. Although Patong has some high end restaurants available you should look for she small, locally owned restaurants. With their plastic chairs and harsh fluorescent lighting they hide the fact that they serve exceptional food! The best ones are located just outside of the bustling tourist area and can be recognized by a mostly local clientele.
Don’t let the lack of an English menu dissuade you, pretty much all the menu’s are picture based. 😉
