A few days each year the sun sets exactly behind the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, and even in times of Corona it is an extremely busy spot. Although not visible, but we were 8 photographers with camera’s on tripods next, above and below each other. All so we could all have a nice picture not blocked by one of the other’s cameras. Behind us was another horde of people, mostly taking pictures with their cellphones, and the odd hand held camera.
Then a gentleman came along…
Seemingly not even noticing the whole group of cameras and people hiding behind them and completely unphased by the busy Parisian traffic, he walked up the end of the divider, and stayed there for about 15 minutes, blocking the sunset for everyone else.
When there was not even a sliver of sunset left, he turned around, seemed to be shocked by the amount of cameras pointed in his direction and then started to apologize profusely.
In all honesty, the sunset wasn’t great, the louds blocked most of it anyway, but somehow him standing right there in the middle turned out to make the picture that much better!
Whomever you are, thank you!
Have you ever have someone completely block your picture, and actually making it better in the end?
I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I do. If you do, why not follow me on Instagram: @jackoleenders. It will help me out greatly!
