Elephant

No stay in Chiang Mai is complete without the almost obligatory (but very interesting) visit to an elephant sanctuary. There are many ways you can see these magnificent creatures, but a sanctuary is the best place for it. These parks provide sanctuary for rescued elephants and have tourists pay to visit and help care for the animals. Avoid shows and rides, they are needlessly cruel to the animals.
