This staircase is located in the Gallo-Roman Museum of Lyon-Fourvière, a museum dedicated to the settlement of Lugdunum (what Lyon was called in Roman times) and its civilization.
The museum is very nice, but the true gem is the Roman theater complex next to it, containing not one, but two theaters that remained remarkably preserved.
No visit to Lyon is truly complete without visiting this ancient site just a few minute walk from the famous Fourviére.
